Anishinabek Nation Anishinaabe Anokiiwin Aanokiitoojig (Chiefs Committee on Governance)
Anishinabek Chiefs have led and continue to lead the negotiations. Anishinabek Nation Grand Council Resolutions passed by Chiefs-in-Assembly continue to provide a mandate to the Anishinabek Nation negotiation team and the Chiefs Committee on Governance (“CCoG”). The CCoG was established through a Grand Council Resolution to provide the guidance, leadership and direction to the negotiations. The CCoG is comprised of the Grand Council Ogimaa, the Regional Deputy Grand Council Ogimaak and two representatives from each of the four political regions, Southwest, Southeast, Lake Huron and Northern Superior. The Chiefs Committee on Governance meets about four times a year.
