How To Vote

Each Eligible Voter can only vote once, but will have three (3) options on how to vote*. The three (3) ways to vote are:

1) Mail-In
An Eligible Voter resident in Canada may request a Mail-in Ballot from the First Nation Ratification Officer, by mail, email, telephone, facsimile, or in person no later than 10 days prior to the end of Voting Period if the Eligible Voter:

  • Has not received a Mail-in Ballot;
  • Has lost or misplaced the original Mail-in Ballot; or,
  • Resides on the First Nation but wishes to participate by casting a Mail-in Ballot.

2) In-Person

  • Polling stations (if applicable) will be set up in the First Nations running a vote.
  • Please contact your First Nation Ratification Officer for information specific to your First Nation.

3) Electronic Vote

Voting electronically or online is a very simple and convenient process as the video below will explain.

 

OneFeather is the online voting management company contracted to run the electronic vote on the proposed Anishinabek Nation Governance Agreement.

Voters can log on here to receive instructions on voting electronically in their community.

*Please contact your First Nation Ratification Officer for details specific to your First Nation. If you reside outside of Canada, please contact your First Nation Ratification Officer or follow the electronic vote instructions above.
